Firstly, blanche monnier became anorexic. By the time she was rescued by the police after receiving an anonymous tip from an unknown person, she barely weighed 25kg.
Secondly, she wasn’t in the best sanitary or hygiene state. A foul smell permeated the entire attic where she was locked up, resulting from the rotten food and human excrements all around her. The room was so smelly and pungent that the investigators couldn’t spend more time to conduct the needed investigations.
Thirdly, her mental and social state were greatly deteriorated. Being trapped in darkness can cause many effects on one’s mental being and in the end, she was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Lastly, she was also diagnosed with exhibitionism, resulting from all those years when she was only stark naked on her rudimentary straw bed.
