The word itself is a combination of the word “transcendent” and the word “trendy”. So as you can see the word itself is a contradiction. Transcendy connotes a feeling of lighthearted irony and satire. It proposes that something can be both momentarily popular and everlasting at the same time.

Star Wars is such a transcendy movie.

The relationship to describe a person who you identify as not quite a friend, but not an acquaintance either. Someone who falls between being an acquaintance (not knowing them very well at all) and a friend (knowing them well and desiring to spend quality time with them).
