Goods that are owned by the state such as utensils, cups, plates, etc. These things are loaned out to the people and if any of such things break or get lost you have to pay a hefty price.

The state-owned goods are part of the state's attempts to control and fine the people.

Code word for business that is owned and operated by white people. Mostly used in the motel and gas station business to differentiate the business from others run by Asian-Americans specifically of Indian decent.

Hey Bubba, let’s stay at the American-owned motel, we know it’s clean since it is run by whites like us.
