A teenage girls worst enemy, The luteal phase is the second half of the menstrual cycle, occurring after ovulation and before menstruation. It typically lasts 12 to 14 days and focuses on preparing the uterine lining for a potential pregnancy.
Your progesterone rises, your estrogen also rises, and your other hormones drop. If you’re not pregnant, those two hormones plummet causing menstruation.
You get symptoms like fatigue, bloating, breast tenderness, mood swings, and sugar or chocolate cravings as hormone levels drop.
You also get uglier as a bonus.
