To exaggerate the truth in order to make oneself look better, to "one up" another persons story in order to look or appear as more educated or interesting.

When one person recounts a story, and the other says "No, no, in my town, the same thing happened but it was bigger than that". This is a common Duchi tactic.

Duchemin

A man, often a teacher, who acts as if he knows all and is better than any other. He makes frequent references to others' parents referring to their awful parenting skills. He wishes you confided in him, but you would never do such a thing. A duchemin is also very forgetful and impersonal, letting words go in one ear and out the other.

What a duchemin, all he talked about was himself; it was like an infomercial.
