Neo-fallacies

New forms of fallacious reasoning that have emerged in the digital age—errors that didn't exist or weren't recognized before the internet. Neo-fallacies include sealioning (relentless bad-faith questioning), concern trolling (expressing fake concern to undermine), and the many forms of online manipulation documented earlier in this dictionary. They're fallacies for the networked age, adapted to the peculiar conditions of digital discourse. Recognizing neo-fallacies requires updating logical theory to match contemporary practice.
Neo-fallacies Example: "He wasn't arguing; he was sealioning—endless 'just asking questions' that never engaged, never satisfied, never ended. Neo-fallacy: a new form of bad-faith interaction enabled by digital platforms. She couldn't fight it with traditional fallacy tools; she had to recognize the new form and respond appropriately—by not engaging at all."

Neo-Sophism

A contemporary revival of the ancient art of sophistry—using the tools of reason not to find truth, but to defend the indefensible, promote narrow paradigms, or advance positions that common sense rejects. Neo-Sophism deploys logic, science, skepticism, and rational argument as weapons for ideology, not as methods for inquiry. The neo-sophist doesn't seek understanding; they seek victory. They use the language of reason to obscure, the methods of science to mislead, the tools of skepticism to dismiss. Climate denial dressed as scientific skepticism? Neo-Sophism. Corporate interests defended with free-market logic that ignores market failures? Neo-Sophism. Psychiatric labels used to dismiss political dissent? Neo-Sophism. The ancient sophists taught rhetoric for winning arguments, not finding truth. Neo-Sophism updates this for the modern world: reason as rhetoric, science as sophistry.
"He spent an hour citing studies, using logical terms, invoking scientific authority—all to defend a position so absurd that anyone with common sense would laugh. That's Neo-Sophism: reason as a weapon for unreason, logic as a cloak for nonsense. The ancients would be proud; the rest of us should be warned."

Neo traditional

Neo traditional is a type of new marriage dynamic. Rather than the 50/50 split in egalitarian marriages, neo traditional uses a 60/40 split. The husband is the primary earner, the wife is the secondary earner. Chores are split mostly evenly, and the children are put into daycare or looked after at home (usually by the woman).

The husband is typically responsible for the main bills and expenses, while the wife has supplemental income for helping purchase extra things.

Neo-Africamericanism

The characteristical act of reconstructing the African, Black and/or Afro-American culture by tracing through societal practices and institutions of its diasporas while retaining and appreciating it's values in the respectful way.
The Niganese language from the Conlang Fandom is one of the unique examples of Neo-Africamericanism, not only it shows the appreciation the African American heritage by mixing it with the inspirations of China. It also shows that it can relate to the similarities and differences within the enthusiastic love of Chinese inspirations without approppriation. After all in this wonderful world and like what Daniel Tiger say "In Some Ways We are Different, but So Many Ways, We are the Same"!
