Phrase used to lull a person into a false sense of attaining a desired thing and then having it taken away before the person takes possession.
*A kid is laying flat on broken ice and his comrades are looking for a way to help him. A grizzly old man, whose land the children are trespassing on pipes in with his advice:
"Alright, give 'em the stick."
Kids lean out to extend the stick to the wayward lad.
"DON'T GIVE 'EM THE STICK!!!"
The kid drowns.

Australian? expression meaning to rev an engine hard, or to put some muscle into it when undoing a bolt, for example.
1) It's not too bad if driven normally, but when you give it some curry.... that's when it sucks fuel.
2) The only thing holding it there is the 2 bolts under the headlight, these will also be hard to remove, so dont be afraid to give it some curry.

When you realize that you're not a good actress so you decide to get gigs and money by giving up your coochie.
If there are better actresses auditioning I will "give them lala!" I wanted the role so I "gave them lala."
