A joke that makes sense, but isn't funny enough so that normal people will laugh at it. The term comes from the Family Guy episode "Ocean's Three and a Half" where Two and a Half Men is being filmed in front of a live ostrich.

Get the that was the joke Tedmug. An inside joke is a joke only understood and funny to only two or more people or a specific group. No one else other than that group will understand the joke and when they do, they will almost always not find it funny. They are usually jokes where "you had to be there" to even find it remotely funny.

Get the inside jokemug. Tom's jokes are hilarious in the beginning but gets overused. It make's Tom's friends cringe but new people laugh.
