The largest brand of General Motors and one of the greatest automobile brands ever created. It is often mocked for being a low-quality brand which is a common myth associated with American cars. "Chevys" are known for producing high-powered muscle cars, dependable pickups and SUVs, and now the most fuel-efficient compact cars on the road. They are produced with the same amount of quality and effort you will find in any Toyota, Honda, or Ford.

1) A two-door variant of the Suburban produced by Chevrolet starting in the 1960's and ending with the introduction of the Tahoe in the mid-1990's.
2) The name given to the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer after the introduction of the Tahoe. Produced until the mid-2000's.

In 1995 the Blazers were redesigned with a more rounded body, and included new MPFI (multi-port fuel injection) engines, in addition to dropping the S-10 prefix.
The first generation Blazers with the TPI 4.3L engines carried on the reputation of the 5.7L, many lasting well above 200,000 miles. However with the introduction of the 700R4 (later named 4L60) automatic transmission, many would only last to 200,000 miles, as the 3rd and 4th gear clutch packs would burn out in the transmissions. This problem was not as common to the fullsize Blazer after the introduction of the 4L60-E, however.
Additionally, problems with the heater core going out and leaking antifreeze into the floorboards were common, as well as seat frames being broken, rear window hydraulics not working, and other cosmetic problems, including the rare steering wheel breakage after one has slammed their fist into the steering wheel.
The S-10 Blazer has a reputation for holding its value. Many S-10 Blazers can be seen for sale for a few thousand dollars, even with 150,000+ miles.

The broken-down Chevrolet Blazer in my yard finally had the rear diff lock up after 300,000 miles of driving. Everything else still works, of course.

In the 50's they made some of the most fantastic cars you could buy, with flair and flash and classic American charm. In the 60's and 70's they built some of the meanest and ferocious muscle cars. However, when the 1980's came about, car quality fell off a cliff. They were so cheap and plasticky and just plain bad. In the from 1990 to 2007, their cars were just terrible. After 2007, quality slowly got better and better. Today's Chevies are very good, they have technology and style like no other car. In a world of beige Toyotas and Hondas, Chevrolet cars stand out and provide very good deals for the money. Chevrolet LTZ cars can be picked up for $17K and have the same quality as some BMW cars. They are also supremely reliable and the highest mileage car was a Chevrolet Silverado, which had over one million miles.

And I'll tell you why Daewoo cars are crap too. In Japan, making a car is an exercise in science and efficiency, constantly striving for a better car in which ever way possible. The Europeans design cars with passion, whether it be German engineering or Italian flair for design.
However, in Korea, they're viewed as fridges. As anonymous mass produced white goods. There is no passion for the car, they just knock em out fast and cheap. There's no need to design these cars, they'll just go for whatever is cheapest.
That is the reason why Daewoo cars are a bag of bollocks. Everyone in Britain knows this, so what did General Motors do? They rename Daewoo to Chevrolet. Check it out on Google, look for Chevrolet's European site, there's no corvette there unlike the american one, but there is the shitcart that is the Daewoo Matiz. Wait, I mean Chevrolet Matiz.
So apparently, by defiling the name of the trustworthy American car manufacturer, General Motors believes that it'll con us into buying their tripe. Every time a new Chevrolet is sold, a person is conned out of their money for some poor quality Korean merchandise.
And that's why I've written this definition, for anyone who doesn't know. Stay away from Chevrolet cars in Europe, they're fucking shit.
