using a playlist to measure time.
instead of using a watch i just use my ipod's playlist because i know each song is 2:00 long and that would mean i need enough of those songs to fill 30 minutes.

"ugh i need to go for a jog."
"go and get your watch."
"but i don't have one."
"okay go and use the good o'l playlist watch."
"thanks dad!"

A playlist where all of the listener's songs are placed in, regardless of mood, energy, or vibe, resulting in intense mood switches between songs, aka whiplash.

Playlist syndrome is where an album has a tracklist of which seems only fit to be added to your playlist and will not be enjoyed as an entire album. For example, you have lots of tracks you like from an album - and yet, they don't seem to have any coherency, and as such will be added to a playlist (or your liked songs) instead of listening to the full album.
Person 1: Hey, did you hear Joji's new album called Nectar?
Person 2: Yeah dude, but there's no coherency. I think it suffers from playlist syndrome.

from your playlist i could tell that you had spent copious amounts of time in bavarian boazn.
You HAVE to tell me about those times. What it felt like being a foreigner first, things like that, adapting.
