An episode of The Office where Michael Scott must break a promise to a bunch of kids he told that he would pay all of their college tuitions, and now that they’re graduating, he can’t actually pay for any of them. On a scale of yikes to cringe... well it’s more of a gotta blast and change my name kinda situation (cough Michael Scarn cough)

Pulling a Scott

Pulling a "Scott" is when you use someone else's words as your own, without initially crediting them. Occurs in many contexts, including when someone makes a joke that's clever, somewhat obscure, and fits so well into the conversation it seems like they made it up on the spot. Also, when someone inputs something extremely romantic into a conversation, which is actually a song lyric or a movie line.

Lida: "Are you still gonna love me when I'm old and wrinkly?"

Scott: "I'll buy you Rogaine, when you start losing all your hair." (Ingrid Michaelson, The Way I Am)

Lida: "You're precisely the reason they call it 'pulling a Scott,' honey."

Montgomery Scott

Montgomery Scott, also known as Scotty or Mr. Scott. Scotty is an engineer from the television show, Star-Trek. Scotty is the only redshirt who never dies, saved the starship enterprise on time with his impeccable intellect. Scotty gave a helping hand to the inventor of transparent aluminum in 1986, the time before he even invented it! He is a such a badass!

Wendell Scott

He is, to date, the only African-American (and generally the only minority) to ever win a top-level NASCAR race. He pulled off this victory back in December 1, 1963.

Wendell Scott won a NASCAR race back in '63. Now, will Bill Lester, who's also black, be able to pull off the same feat today?
