Fangirl

Fangirl is one who obsesses over celebrities, fictional characters, et cetera. These delicate creatures can also be known as ‘Otakus’, but typically an otaku is one who spends all day inside, alone, and watching anime. You could very easily say that a very large proportion of tumblr users are, in fact, fangirls.

However, fangirl isn’t just a name; it’s also and action. For example, you could say you ‘fangirled’ over something, meaning you had a moment in which you probably squealed like a pterodactyl over something/someone.

Fangirls are VERY sensitive about their OTP’s, so be careful what you say in front of them...

Tina: I LOVE Tom Hiddleston SOOO much!
Lucy: You are such a fangirl...

A girl (for male version see fanboy) who is obsessed with something, ie anime (an otaku), books, or movies. Some are insane (literally) while most actually suffer from bullying, depression, social anxiety, etc, and try to block out their own lives using fictional universes. (And some are perverts. But we all know that because yaoi and yuri exist)

Maria is a secret fangirl. At school, she acts shy and normal; while at home she has a thriving yaoi tumblr page.

The armpit women of generation Z (and Y if unemployed). They spend countless hours trying to get noticed by their idol and comment with irritating jargon under their idol's uploads. They are cult-like women who form group "fandoms" and resort to an idiocracy known as "shipping" which is sexually or creepily imaging their idol dating or having sex with an other heart-throb idol. They are found watching and drooling at profiles, pictures, and YouTube uploads of popular attractive teens and twenty-somethings. They are rapidly expanding and must be exterminated at once.
