When you're not too high to function at work but still high enough to enjoy yourself. Not usually high enough if you're out smoking with your friends.

Is like the Catholic Purgatory, in that people holier-than-thou beat you over the head (with textbooks rather than maces) and after suffering through this for a set period of time, you eventually are permitted to pass through the Pearly Gates when the Principal hands you the diploma. Of course, there is also the possibility of going to Hell by dropping out. But, no worries-- all high school affects is the fate of your immortal soul.
Parent-- "What did your English teacher assign for homework?"
Teenager-- "Dante. Pure torture."
Parent-- "Well, it might SEEM like Hell now, but don't worry-- it'll make you a better person. You can even use that when you send in college applications."
And then you wonder if you'll make it to college, or if your obituary will read 'cause of death: high school.'

An overly exuberant kick in the air that sometimes involves a hop up, and other times is done from a stationary position. The context is either a high kick out of joy/celebration/approval, or a high kick to show someone that you "mean business", that the situation is faccado, and/or they'd "better watch out." More popular in the Southern U.S., and especially popularized by women from the South who move to the frigid north and want to show their skills.

A four year (for some five) sentence. Full of horny and judgmental teenagers with no lives with room temperature IQ. 99.999% spend these four years struggling with a Myspace/Facebook addiction. 4 of 5 students will have/have had and STD by the time graduation rolls around. One of two things; the best or worst years of your life, usually worst. 89% of people that leave high school, regardless of how they felt about it, will not remember there four (sometimes five) years because they were either have been stoned and/or drunk 100% of the time. Temperature is usually never right in high school i.e. cold in the winter and hot in the summer.
