sponge-out

Verb:

When someone falls asleep/passes out at a social gathering before the night has started. Typically at an event that involves drinking alcohol.

It should be noted that sponging-out rarely requires a blackout from drinking too much alcohol. It usually occurs after being in the drowsy state from drinking 2-3 beers after a long day.
Before the party even started, I saw my buddy sponge-out around 9pm.
