Man, I hate when Trump supporters use the Facebook laughing emoji. They think everything is funny. Fuck those people. Fuck Trump. Fuck fascism.

broom emoji

The broom emoji 🧹 is used in group chats as a reaction to comments that violate community rules.

It’s used to prevent unwanted dialogue without using dialogue.

It’s commonly used in big group chats where lots of chatter can be annoying for members to have to scroll through. Too much scrolling can be annoying and even painful for elderly and disabled people with arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome.

The broom emoji reaction is used to prevent chatter from getting out of hand.

Members use a broom emoji instead of using their words to prevent further unwanted messages.

Emojis take up much less space than someone saying, “Please keep chatter to a minimum,” so while it may be passive aggressive the benefits of less chatter and less scrolling are valued.

If someone talks too much their messages will likely have multiple broom emojis 🧹 as reactions to their messages.

The people who want to violate the rules with chatter should make a new group for themselves to talk as much as they want.
***in an events group chat where people share things to do in their local community***

“I can’t wait to go this event that you just shared, I’m so excited for it!!!”

***people react to this message with a 🧹***

“Why did people react with broom emojis to my comment?”

***people again react to this message with a 🧹***

“Oh ok I googled it and I found out why thanks to urban dictionary! I’ll stop making annoying comments in here and I’ll make a new group chat! Send me a direct message if you want to join me!”

🗿emoji meaning in slang

1) In slang, "🗿" is often used to signify "I'm a walking embarrassment, ready to be laughed at or used as a punching bag for your sexual innuendos."It's the go-to emoji for those who revel in being the butt of the joke, particularly in a kinky, risqué context. So, if you're into being the subject of a humiliating yet tantalizing roast, slap that 🗿 emoji.

Laughing Emoji (Popular Consensus)

Although the laughing emoji normality has changed through the years due to the constant use of TikTok and other platforms, we can look at some of the normal ones that have been used the most.

Some of those include the following:

2010-2020 Laughing Emoji 😂 (Also notably the word of the year in 2015 by Oxford)

2020-2021~2023 Skull Emoji 💀 (Still commonly used, but not as popular and seen as cringe by today's standards)

2021-2021 Chair Emoji 🪑 (Started as an inside joke but never caught on)

2023-2024 Sobbing Emoji (Loudly Crying Emoji) 😭 (Still used in tandem with today's laughing emojis)

2024-Present Wilting Flower Emoji + Empty Battery Emoji 🥀🪫 (Used to signify more depression than humor)

With this list, we can also observe the slight decline through the years that Gen Z has been putting in affect as the "new normal". Ever since the crying emoji in 2023, Gen Z had started basing more of their humor off of darker jokes. This can also be observed with the wilting flower and empty battery emojis as they signify weakness or sadness. One popular way it's used is as acceptance. Memes that include horrible scenarios with no way of the reader/speaker getting out is another popular scenario. Although I'm not trying to make my generation's dumb memes sound sophisticated in any way shape or form, it is interesting to see how the laughing emoji norm has changed over the years and the new humor that develops alongside it.
