What I Am

A song by the band Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians.

It’s a really stupid song, the lyrics don’t even make any sense. The music is okay. But the song is really dumb, if you think about it… they never even had a hit ever since.

What I Am - When I was a kid in the 90’s I remember on FM pop (Adult Contemporary) radio stations they would almost exclusively play this song over and over again, along with “That’s All” by Genesis and “You Gotta Be” by Des’ree.

When my mom drove me to school every morning in her car, they would always play those 3 songs on the radio almost everyday in the 90’s and it was so annoying, you would get sick of hearing ‘em.
