Dan Quayle Moment

It describes a moment where someone says, in public, something incredibly stupid and idiotic. It is named after former US Vice President Dan Quayle who had done this on several occasions.

An example of a Dan Quayle Moment by Dan Quayle himself. "If we do not succeed, we run the risk of failure."

A moment that causes you to react instinctively. It's not about guns or shooting, it's about reacting to a situation with a quick response. A term often used to describe quick movements in sports. fight or flight, instinct, react, reaction time, quick response

When my neighbor across the street yelled watchout, I immediately fell to the ground and covered my head. A tree limb had fallen in his yard, but I thought it was a drive-by. It was a bang-bang moment for me, I'm paranoid as heck.
