DRR

An alphabetistic acronym (say as individual letters, not one word) standing for Doggett/Reyes Relationship. Used by X-Philes (fans of the TV show The X-Files) about the two characters Agent John Doggett and Agent Monica Reyes introduced in the final two seasons of the show. The relationship between the agents on the show was not a romantic or sexual one, so the term is used as conjecture, in fanfiction and online discussions.

DRR

Acronym for Distributed Renewable Resources.

Distributed: Spread out, not in one location
Renewable: Always available, does not depend upon consumption of a limited resource
Resource: Thing necessary for accomplishing a goal; often, the goal is staying alive
(e.g., local solar / wind energy, rainwater collection, etc.)

DRR are often "green" or ecologically friendly options. DRR would help people live more independently.

As opposed to the Centralized Consumption Resources typical in industrialized societies.
(e.g., coal / natural gas / nuclear power plants, city water treatment facilities, etc.)

Example 1:
We need DRR to prevent power blackouts & brownouts; and, to prevent water shortages as well.

Example 2:
DRR provide a much more robust system than centralized resources; thus, helping prevent resource shortages.
