The displacement effect

When a heterosexual, cisgender male is incorporated into a gender-queer, queer, female friend group burdened with the patriarchal wrongdoings experience by the other members of the friend group despite not being associated with the male majority. For a man to fall under the displacement effect, he can only be incorporated into a singular group.

Imaginary Friend Effect

When a person seems invisible or unheard in group functions and only seems to be interacted with in one on one conversations.

In groups they are often ignored and their opinion is disregarded. Like a child's imaginary friend, they only seem to exist when no one else is around.

Sonic & Knuckles Effect

The Sonic & Knuckles Effect only happens when 2 characters are compared to each other. One character may have more careless, goofy, "radical" behavior, and the other character may have serious and focused behavior. The original form of the Sonic & Knuckles Effect was, well, Sonic & Knuckles, with Sonic being the more careless character, and Knuckles being the more serious character.

Person 1: Hey! Cmon, what are you doing here just sitting around?
Person 2: I'm trying to look after my belongings.
Person 3: It looks like you two have the Sonic & Knuckles Effect
