Redneck

the REAL origin of the term "redneck" derives from the WVA, Kentucky coal-mining communities where union labor was not only frowned upon, but members were openly beaten, shot at, and kept from working...so the union began distributing red bandanas for the miners to wear to show that they were union supporters...so "rednecks" was both a derogatory (from the ownership side) and a badge of honor (from the miners side)...and seeing as how a third of the miners were African-American (they too were called rednecks)...it has nothing to do with being outside and getting sunburned...and what's even more funny is when trying to explain to a young black youth that if he were mining coal in that region in the early 20th century, he too would be called a redneck...

those redneck boys are going on strike again...

Redneck Ph.D

When a Redneck, Hillbilly or White trash person says something that a Redneck, Hillbilly or White trash person would find perfectly logical but normal people with IQs exceeding 40 find ridiculous.

Redneck Ph.D: Hay, guyz!! I just fawnd awt dat pawt duzzn't hayav ennie udd-ik-tivv kem-y-kulls een eet!
Guy 1: What?
Guy 2: I think he said that marijuana is not addictive

redneck hillbilly hick

Possibly the most horrific abomination ever to be brought upon the world. A cross between a hick, a hillbilly, and a redneck, if you can imagine such a creature. If you ever see a redneck hillbilly hick, RUN.

I've heard stories that redneck hillbilly hicks live in those mountains. I don't fully beleive it myself, but still I can't bring myself even to look in that direction anymore.

redneck

A term derived from a hard-working southern farmers who have sun-burns on their necks from working all day long in the sun. Some people from the northern states in the USA use "Redneck" as an insult, but is really a compliment from one farmer and/or southerner to another.

Most southerners are proud to be called a redneck, because anyone who calls them that has no idea it is a compliment.
