A new term used by people who aren't happy about the growing presence of robots and artificial intelligence in daily life has emerged.
"Clankers," a term from Star Wars lore used by humans and clones to derogatively refer to robots, the term first appeared in the Star Wars franchise. During the Clone Wars, a conflict between the republic and separatists, the latter used an army of robots called droids. So the word "clanker" became a common derogatory term used by protagonists toward their robotic enemies. While its use began ironically, the growing adoption of automation in almost every facet of life has some people using the term more seriously.

This is the term used for a older and rusty droid. The term clanker is commonly used amongst new age droids as a insult to older droids. "Clankers" often contain rusty components that are loud and can make "clanking" or "clunking sounds".

A Memeable Slur, used to refer to Artficial Intelligence/Robots, orginally from Star wars fandom for the droids and used like the n-word for robots in current times

A pejorative term used against AI bots and other software used because HR is too lazy to hire competent employees
I swear to god, if I have a fucking clanker answer the phone and tell me my 1-year warranty is expired when I bought that vacuum a month ago, I'm going to lose it.
