when you came home late last night i could not resist dragging you near and claiming some of that attention. it had been too long, the last time you licked my gaping seedless mango. you knew i had done without, you knew i had fasted and missed a couple of harvests. and you knew i would offer plenty in return. you knew.

so when it was my turn consecrating your soil, you understood the nature, the nurture of our exchange, that there was no guilt no shame in sucking whats ripe. that our well being was connected with the fire that warms, the water that clenches, the air that refreshes, the earth that steadies.
you knew i longed for our warm wet bodies to sprout.
