Shell Shock

A condition that occurs only in high school guidance counselors. Those affected will spend hours at grocery stores running tests on eggs looking for the perfect carton. They usually become angry when people suggest they mix and match the eggs.
Dante was about to call the cops on a Shell Shocked counselor in the Quick Stop, but a woman told him not to worry about it, because they always pay for what they break and clean up after themselves

sell out

Used by kids who want to sound "hardcore" when a band they like gets popular. Suddenly the band sucks because they're popular, so how the fuck did they got popular in the first place if they suck.
Dude, like Good Charlotte so sold out by going to MTV.
No, they've always blown cock.

sell out

The stupidest word ever created. Meant to describe a band that suddenly got popular. Suddenly, that band's music isn't good anymore, because they're too popular. Never to be used unless you want to sound like a moron who has no idea what you're talking about.
Oh my god, Green Day are such sell outs, and I'm a complete idiot who lives in my mom's basement.

shell

Extreme intoxication through alcohol consumption. Typically characterised by the inability to respond coherently to even simple questions. Derived from 'shell of a man'. One step up the scale of drunkenness from battered.
That was an excellent night. There was loads of beer and I pushed through battered to achieve shell.

sellout

A word used by stuck up teenagers who think that if music is popular and the album gets into the top 10 then the band are automatically are rubbish and are terrible.
One of the most 'sellout' bands of our time is Green Day. I am a Green Day fan and I will freely admit that but I have friends who in 2000 liked Green Day but since American Idiot claim 'Green Day are shit! They are such sellouts!' And these people haven't even heard of Kerplunk. I don't think that any band has sold out. Every band sets out to make music and to hopefully be famous. Everyone wants a limo. Everyone wants £1m record contract.
Being rich doesn't mean you make rubbish music. It doesn't mean you don't care anymore. It just means you are rich and have a lot of fans.

And Good Charlotte? MTV from the start in my opinion.
(Silly person) Omg I love this band! I'll always love Green Day!
(Silly person 3 or 4 years down the line) I hate this band! They have never made a good song in their lives. I always hated them! Green Day are such sellouts.

Sell the dream, live the nightmare

The mantra of every salesperson alive, they promise the client unachievable results if they just sign on the line. Once the dream is sold, the operations team then needs to unravel the web of deceit sold and "recalibrate" the client's expectations (i.e., the nightmare).
Todd: " How did we lose our biggest client last week?"

Tyler: "It seems once they talked with Operations they realized there was no way they could make that deadline. Another classic example of 'sell the dream, live the nightmare."
