Love bombing

A manipulative tactic where someone overwhelms you with excessive affection, gifts and promises at the start of a relationship to gain control or trust. Once hooked, they shift to demeaning and controlling behavior.

Love bombing is when they tell you they love you but never had anytime to actually get to know you and fall in love with you.

Abuser: “from the moment I met you, I knew you were my soulmate. No one has ever understood me like you do. I’ll do whatever it takes to make you the happiest woman alive because you’re everything I’ve ever wanted. I love you so much”

Victim: “wow really? No one has ever said anything like this to me before. I love you too”
