trucker-speak

A set of terms that everyday truck drivers use and are also stereotyped to be used by truck drivers.

Some well-known trucker terms:

Evel Knievel: A motorcycle cop.

City Kitty: A local city cop, same thing as a local yokel.

Local Yokel: A local city cop, the same as a city kitty.

County Mounty (also spelled County Mountie): A county sheriff or sheriff's deputy.

Smokey Bear (or just Bear): A state trooper or highway patrol officer.

Truck Driver: "I was drivin' down the road and on my way to the truckstop I saw six Evel Knievels, five City Kitties, five Local Yokels, three County Mounties, and two Smokey Bears."
Me: "That's a lot of trucker-speak you're using to mean police officers and sheriff deputies and stuff."

Ticker

A "ticker" is any person who participates in a hobby that contains a large number feats to be accomplished whereby their personal understanding of success or victory in this field is correlated to how close to 100% of the accomplishments they can "tick" off their list. This applies to hikers looking to summit the highest peak in all 50 states, bird watchers, visiting the countries of the world, trying all of the restaurants in a large city and bedding every last male and/or female on the planet.

This term is often used in a pejorative sense as oftentimes the desire to "tick" things off one's list interferes with one's actual enjoyment or even awareness of the act. Ticking is also almost always associated with some degree of nerdery.

Bill tells me that he "reviewed" 120 beers at the beer festival. I think he's full of shit saying he remembers them all and that he's probably just in it for the numbers so that he can brag to his stupid friends. He's just another ticker.

MySpace Tracker

The other listed definition is correct, but I happen to know of one that does exist and definitely works. It's just that profile trackers are supposedly against the MySpaz Terms of Service, something to do with how you're not supposed to be able to secretly view other people's IP address without their knowledge. Violating the TOS could get your laboriously pimped profile page deleted.

Used in a sentence: "That stalker used his MySpace Tracker to get my IP address. He found it with his Myspace Tracker and matched it to my home address. So now my computer has a virus and I have a disease. I put a Myspace Tracker in my profile now too."

I'm only putting this part in so you know I am not bullshitting you, but for the record I get nothing out of this. No profit motive here. That said...
