funk metal

A hybrid genre of funk and metal charactrezied by funk-like beats, metallic guitar riffs, prominent bass, and occasionally rap. Funk metal was created and rose to popularity on a timeline similar to that of grunge. One of the earliest forms of alternative metal.

Examples: Rage Against the Machine, Faith No More, Living Colour, Primus, some Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc.

-This is good music. The bassline is complex and groovy but the guitarist is tapping and shredding like a madman.
-Yeah, that's funk metal.

metal gear

A nuclear equipped walking battle tank. Metal Gear Rex was held by the army, with legendary technology. The US marines later made use of Metal Gear Ray, which was amphibious, unlike the army's Rex. Metal Gear Arsenal was disguised as a rig in the middle of a lotta water. It was revealed to be more than just a weapon, containing nearly every piece of valuable information to the US government. It wasn't just a weapon, but the core of the country. It was guarded by a bunch of Rays. I don't know where the story goes from there, as I have not gotten Metal Gear Solid 3 yet.

Wow. It's a cool name that has been re-used for projects of killing machines and databases for the US government.

A form of underground heavy metal that involves deep-growling lyrics, distorted guitars, drums fast as shit, heavy, distorded guitars, lyrics involving death, destcrution, war, satan, egypt (Nile), poltics, and more death. people look down upon this great music only because there too fucking stupid to listen to it, stupid pop/rap/cocksucksers...you probbaly think slipknot is death metal....i pitty you

1. Possibly the greatest 2D side-scroller of all time. Released by SNK back in 1996, the series is currently in it's fifth arcade incaranation with two other versions for the Neo Geo Pocket and one for mobile phones.

Also is being used as a theme for a series of Pachinko machines being produced by SNK.

2. The Super Vehicle 001; resembles a cartoonish mini-tank. Has the untanklike power to hop, and is armed with two mini-vulcan guns and a large caliber tank cannon, which can be armed with H.E. and Armor Piercing Rounds.

black metal

A subgenre of heavy metal. Characteristics of black metal include typically high-pitched screaming vocals, tremolo picked guitars lacking bass and emphasising treble, and blastbeats (quadruple time drum beats). Unlike its sibling, the more thrash-based death metal, black metal concentrates more on mood and melodies (primal as they may be) instead of riffs and heaviness. The line between death and black metal can often be hazy, which is why categorizations are not really that important.
