emo

Emo is a terrible chain reaction that infects people all around the world. It starts of with someone in a mid-high class suburban society that is bored, and gets little attention. They figure; "If I become different, people will notice me." So, they start exaggerating their emotions, mostly sadness, which seems to grip most people. Eventually, they will start showing all of the symptoms of an emo. In most cases, they will by a black book, in which they draw sad pictures and write sad poetry in. Then, they will comb their hair as straight as possible, in order to achieve minimum eye contact. And finally, they will start wearing black clothing (preferably with stripes or with band pins), pierce random spots on their face and (in severe cases) start cutting their wrists.
Eventually, other people notice, and some join this crowd. Almost all the people that become emo, never change. No one knows what happens to them after college either. They somehow disapear in their own imaginary sadness. *sniff*

Emo

1) Not quite goth, not quite gay. A whining sorry excuse for a human being.
2) Some form of amphibian excrement you step on near a body of water.
I just slipped in that emo back there. I will have to wipe my feet.

Emo

For your information this was written by a punk and not an emo, there's a difference

Emo or Emotive is a music movement that began in the mid-1980s in Washington DC. The "emo" genre is more of an umbrella of music genres such as post hardcore, pop punk, indie and other styles. The emo genre is often fused with other styles creating genres such as emo pop, emoviolence, and melodic emocore. There is also the emo subgenre of scream which uses a style of "screaming" along with or as the main vocals.

Then of course there's the stereotypical emo, skinny jeans, wears black and is an emotional mess. Wrong, most emos are not like that. They are more or less better in touch with their emotions than that girl on the cheer team. Yes, emos do tend to dress a certain way but every emo is different and will express themselves differently. A British metalcore emo will wear Asking Alexandria tanktops, a post hardcore emo will wear a Sleeping With Sirens sweatshirt, a powerviolence emo will wear a Kuza shirt, everyone is different.

Deal with it.

~Hail Satan and have a lovely afternoon~
Not all emos are emotional messes, some are just catholic whores currently enjoying a congress out of wedlock with their black jewish boyfriend who work at a military abortion clinic.

emo

A subculture mainly consisting of younger people who listen to rock, metal, punk, etc. They get lot's of hate and are called fake a lot, but I can assure you, they aren't depressed because they are emo, they are emo because they are depressed. Actually, you don't have to be depressed to be emo. They mostly turn to their music to cope with their issues, for the lyrics are deeply meaningful. If people would stop making fun of these bands because they have a different sound than others and listen to the lyrics and pay attention to them, you'd find the meaning. Emos usually have a darker style of band shirts, skinny jeans, and Vans with hints of neon, and the style is less for attention and more for finding more emos like themselves. The most common emo stereotype is that they all are suicidal and cut themselves, which is extremely untrue.
1.
Person 1: Ew look an emo!
Person 2: Hey emo! Go cut yourself
"Emo": I'll cut your throat
Person 3: I'll slit your throat and fuck the wound!
*emo and person 3 fall in love because Slipknot*

2.
"Emo": (bad day) I'm gonna listen to Pierce the Veil, Black Veil Brides, and Of Mice & Men even though society calls them all emo and horrible
PTV: Darling, you'll be okay
BVB: I believe that we all fall down sometimes
OM&M: You're not alone, you're with me
PTV: I wanna hold your hand so tight, I'm gonna break my wrist
BVB: Saviour will be there when you are feeling alone
OM&M: Don’t give up, baby I know that it's shaky

Emo

Emo (pronounced /ˈiːmoʊ/) is a style of rock music typically characterized by melodic musicianship and expressive, often confessional lyrics. It originated in the mid-1980s hardcore punk movement of Washington, D.C., where it was known as "emotional hardcore" or "emocore" and pioneered by bands such as Rites of Spring and Embrace. As the style was echoed by contemporary American punk bands, its sound and meaning shifted and changed, blending with pop punk and indie rock and encapsulated in the early 1990s by groups such as Jawbreaker and Sunny Day Real Estate. By the mid 1990s numerous emo acts emerged from the Midwestern and Central United States, and several independent record labels began to specialize in the style.

Emo has been criticized for its androcentrism and the tendency of most emo bands to relegate women to the role of muse or heartbreaker in their lyrics
