Deadly Newton

A self-defense technique; the act of gripping an opponent’s throat with two fingers positioned just below the Adam’s apple and applying focused, controlled pressure, intended to induce immediate physical shock, momentary disorientation, or temporary incapacitation; typically described as most effective when executed swiftly and in coordination with additional pressure-point techniques.

The name Deadly Newton is derived from a play on words connecting the throat’s “Adam’s apple” with the famous story of Isaac Newton and the falling apple. Just as the apple is said to have struck Newton and inspired his thoughts on force and gravity, the technique centers on applying sudden, focused force near the Adam’s apple. The “Newton” portion references both the historical figure and the scientific unit of force named after him, while “deadly” emphasizes the intense and potentially dangerous nature of the maneuver.

In the heat of the confrontation, he used a Deadly Newton to startle his attacker long enough to break free and escape.
