It is a made-up belief within our evolving measurement system we use to evaluate values, fairness, and potential.
Made-up belief... Because there is no measurement unit (inches, gallons, meters, etc.), we create it based on our experiences, culture, and what we have been exposed to. Beliefs can be changed instantly with new information. This system is subjective and created by the individual. Thus, made up.
Evolving measurement system... Respect is, by definition, a judgment of worth. This assessment system is always evolving as we grow, learn more, and see things differently. My respect system at 21 is very different than at 40.
The main categories we assess respect falls under three main categories. Values, potential, and fairness. Here are some words that fall in these categories. (there are many more)
Values: Trust, safety, consideration, loyalty, morals, disregard, Rudeness, generosity, kindness, manners, principal(s), intelligence, skill, hard-working, accountability, status, and punctuality.
Potential: Belief, obedience, loyalty, defiance, Love, kindness, effort, tact, winning, accomplishments, status, achievements, elders, winning a championship, gold medal, doctorate, graduation.
Fairness: Appreciation, generosity, justice, support, differences, kindness, the golden rule.

I respect people who treat others the way they like to be treated.
I respect the effort and dedication they put in to build their dream!
I respect people on time and who are considerate of others' schedules.

Get the Respect mug.A phrase to describe the act of jacking off to alleviate the pain from getting blue balls. Or a phrase to describe beating off in general.
“Bro Kylie was pounding me off but didn’t finish the job so I had to go to the shower because I was paying respects at the tomb of the unblown soldier by sending him out to sea.”

Get the Paying Respects at the Tomb of the Unblown Soldier mug.Respect is not essential to life. You dont need anybody else's respect to live, and they dont need yours. The most chicken shit people are the ones who wont stand alone when nobody likes or respects them. Gangs are full of chicken shits.
Britney Spears and a gang member aren't so different, they stand only with a group, only when they're in the majority, outnumbering the other guy. Nobody needs respect to keep going, and not being respected doesn't stop anybody. A lot of people seem to think they're going to disrespect Trump out of power. Like anybody who is human, he cares what people think of him, but not being respected won't change or stop anything he's doing, get real about life.

2. To admire and honor someone who have done something extraordinary usually for the greater good.
3. To demand others not to say something that you do not like, no matter whether it is true or not.

The dignity of school assemblies is to be respected. There is to be total silence once the assembly starts.
He has earned my utmost respect for his persistent in seeking and following the truth no matter how difficult it was.
If you don't respect me, I am going to beat the shit out of you!
