They love music , take pride in their appearance, and a true emo is usually somebody who is pissed off by their own demons, they usually have an above average desire for friendship, though may be too shy so they stay by themselves. However, the genre has seen a sort of revival in recent years, with bands like The Hotelier, Sorority Noise and Foxing getting more popular in indie circles.
The word is also used to describe a certain lifestyle, however this is not related to actual emo music.
