A common format used by most major gamers (not including me) that has been used for years and has been combined with the Ctrl and Space buttons with the acception of the E button. The format is the following:
W=walk/drive forward
A=strafe/turn left
S=walk/drive backward
D=strafe/turn right
Ctrl=crouch
Space=jump
E (only if the game has to have a "Use" key)=Use
The only well known competitor to WASD is the Arrow keys which is another game movement format for another Urban Dictionary page.

Get the WASD mug.Used to describe a special maneuver technique in PC games that involves rapid tapping of WASD keys, which usually results in constant changing of the in-game character's speed and direction. By doing so it makes others, especially the player's counterparts, hard to predict the player's following movement.

Get the WASF mug.pronounced both "W-A-S-D 'ing" and "wasding", this is simplj just an alternate and somewhat semi-1337 term to convey that someone is playing a first-person-shooter on a computer. this relation comes to existance due to the fact that in most fps games for pc, one must use the w,a,s, & d keys to move forward, left, back, and right, respectively. this could also pertain to third person shooters, certain platformers, and pretty much any game where there is an overhead camera which follows one significant character, being controlled by said wasd'er.
"hey Zach, is Levi over there wasd'ing again?"
"yeah, here comes Mr. Haygood. I think this is gonna be the third time he's been caught today..."
"hah, pwnd"
