Lavender Haze 

"Lavender Haze" was referenced by gay poet James Schuyler (the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry winner of 1981) in his poem "Sunday". There is no official quote from him as to why he used the term "lavender haze", but the color has a long history of being associated with the LGBT+ community.

a feminine or girly gay man. name is a reference to how gay couples would give eachother lavender stalks as a sign of their affection before being gay was accepted by american society as a whole.

lavender 

a term to describe lesbian women. It came from the 1940s when lesbians would give each other lavender to show that they were gay but anyone outside of the lgbt+ community at the time would not know this custom and would just think that they are good friends. this is how they escaped prosecution at the time
