A derogatory term used to describe either a homosexual man or sometimes a feminine man, that is also prone to crazy or erratic behavior.
The word's origin derived from two common slang terms "fruitcake" and "Basketcase"

I caught my husband dressed in my favorite lingerie, he was doing an excellent rendition of "Single Ladies", but after noticing me staring at him, he lower his voice as much as possible, looked at me with a straight face and said "These are not the droids you are looking for"...WTF I married a "Fruitbasket"

A gay person who is crazy. Someone who obviously has a few screws loose based on the way they dress, extreme makeup or fashion choices. You might see one being interviewed on the TV news and think to yourself “that is one crazy motherfucker.”

Did you see that 7 foot tall black guy being interviewed on TV? Dude was wearing silver rollerskates, rainbow hair extensions, pink eyeshadow and talon fingernails? Man what a fruitbat. I couldn’t even listen to what he was saying to the reporter because his outfit was so weird, you know?
