a state. Like any other, I'm from Connecticut and I don't hate it, but I don't love it. I've never lived anywhere else so to put the state down doesn't seem right, but to say it's the best state in the country well I can't say that either. All the fellow Connecticut people or out of state people who come on here and celebrate CT or bash CT to ridiculous levels are wrong so maybe we are the richest or the smartest or both..doesn't mean any other state is poor or dumb we all have nice places and smart people and vise versa. The one great thing about CT is that we are so close to NYC and Boston..but other then that we're not awesome and we're not horrible...we're are simply a state in the Northeast of the US and southern New England..enough said
out of state person." So you're from Connecticut does that mean you're stuck up like all the rest of them?"
Me."Nope, I realize Connecticut is just a state like any other and I don't think we're better then anyone."
Out of state person."Wow thats a shock."

Connecticut is a state of about 3 million people. It has ultra wealthy towns such as Greenwich and Westport, where some of the homes reach well over 15 million. It also has very wealthy towns like Darien, New Canaan, and Weston. It also has very poor cities. It is also home to Yale. It also has two famous casinos which are the states main attractions
In Connecticut it would seem every thing is linked to money.

Maybe by statistics one of the richest states, but has a very large ghetto population. either you in a farm community, which is the richer section, or you in a city...which is most likely ghetto. ive never been to a city in ct that didnt atleast have one area wit moderatly high crime. some of the many ghettos: hartford, new haven, bridgeport, stamford, middletown, east hartford, and there is a farming town, portland, who has a lot of poverty, ghettos, and white trash. Also home to many italians and puerto ricans.

The fifth state to join the union of the United States. Considered by many to be one of the six New England states, the other five being Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Maine; considered by New Englanders to be an annex of the state of New York.
Masshole: 'Where ah you from?'
Connecticutian: 'Connecticut.'
Masshole: 'Really? I've never been to that paht of New York."
Connecticutian: 'It's not part of New York!'
Rhode Islander, New Hampshirite, Vermonter, and Mainiac: 'Sure it is.'
Connecticutian: -_-*

While outsiders may think of millionaires when they hear Connecticut (just like people think of Hollywood and Malibu when they hear California), the notion of it being a fabulously wealthy state is true only in a handful of towns in southwestern and central CT. While it is the richest state in the US, it also has two of the poorest cities in America--Hartford and Bridgeport. The few very wealthy people in CT are so incredibly rich that they skew the data, making the people of CT look richer than they really are. Go for a drive in Hartford, Bridgeport, Waterbury, New Haven, New Britain, or Willimantic as well as the rich places near NYC to get an accurate picture of the state. Connecticut people who live outside Fairfield County hardly even consider it to really be a part of the state--all they have in common with the rest of us is the design of their license plates.
Westport girl: I'm going shopping in The City this weekend.

Bristol guy: What "city"?

Westport girl: Why, New York! What other city would it be?

Bristol guy: Uhh, I have no reason to go to New York, so I rarely do. "The City" is pretty vague to people who are really from Connecticut and not just suburban New Yorkers.
