Chronofied

From Greek khronos, time; and Latin stupefacere, to be stunned.
The result when a person happens to glance at their watch and realize more time has passed than they assumed. Often linked with "Relativity" scenario's.

Dad: "Son. Why are you home so late?"
Son: "Sorry Pops. I was chatting with this girl I like, and I swear I thought it was only an hour. But when I looked down at my watch, 3 had passed by! I was Chronofied.
Dad: "Son. Stop making up stupid words."

Derived from Greek "chronos" (time) + Latin "vore" (eating). Any of a variety of time-consuming and potentially addictive toys, games or activities. Especially apt for computer games and web surfing.

"I was going to go to bed at 10, but World of Warcraft is such a chronovore, I was up until 3 a.m."

chronoisseur

A person whose area of expertise is none other than the numerous strains of marijuana that make life great. These people will almost always be breaking up, rolling, and smoking marijuana, without ever letting the nugs leave their sight. Also, chronoisseurs can always and most definitely identify strains of marijuana, decide whose blunt is more nicely rolled, and tell you why glass is better than paper. Do not contest a chronoisseur.

Stoned Kid- "Hey man I got this bag of bangins so im gonna roll this blunt. Lemme get that dutch man."

Chronoisseur- " Sorry brother, but we will rip that dimo of danks out of Walker Texas Chamber and then I shall twist this shit up strawberry style."

chronosome n (Greek khronos, time + Greek soma, body; cf. chromosome) Ð a unit of historical heredity, in contrast with a chromosome as a unit of biological heredity; a mental code of a historical period that is transmitted to next generations through styles, traditions and unconscious influences ("cultural air").

The chronosomes of the early 20th c. avant-garde have reached the generation of the 1960s and shaped its political views and artistic styles.

Nabokov's novel "Invitation to a Beheading" bears many Kafka's chronosomes, even if the author claims to have never read Kafka.
