a better, more refined manner of saying goodbye, especially to a close friend or loved one.

referring to the only slightly tasty condiment, the phrase is generally believed to have been invented by Timothy Walker in the state of New York sometime near the turn of the century.
Devon: "peace out 'kraut, as in sauerkraut"

Tim: "Oh nice, peace out sauerkraut, that's my phrase, i made that up"

Devon and Valentina: "no you did not"

Term used to encourage military members to become conscienous objectors "peace" and get "out" of the military. Started during the Viet Nam War by "Peaceniks" and hippies. Turned into a term for saying goodbye, used primarily within ethnic groups. Has been receiving renew popularity because of the U.S.s involvement in yet another unpopular war.

A way of saying goodbye in a caring manner to someone you might not see again for a long period of time. Usually said in a bitter sweet way; ex: loved ones, love interests, best friends.
