A degen is a person who participated in a multitude of activities that will ultimately result in losing a generations worth of progress by their previous ancestors. May also be used if the person is keeping up with previous family traditions in a way that stunts their progress amongst their piers. The progress could be in many forms and is not restricted to wealth, life skills or health and generally includes positive societal contributions as a major factor.
