-1. To Metal Heads an emo band is a band that isn't brutal enough to be Thrash Metal or Death Metal.
-2. To Punk Rockers emo bands are like punk rock bands that don't spread Anarchy.
-3. To Goths, emo bands are "emo" because things like My Chemical Romance are more angsty than The Cure; Goth

and emo are both alternative rock but aren't the same music or fashion.
-4. Emo is sometimes used as an insult towards anyone with depression.
-5. Emo is a subculture with dark clothes, bright accessories (arm sleeves, necklaces, piercings), dyed hair, eyeliner, skater shoes and music that's too expressive to be accepted by other subcultures and doesn't sound Goth.

The true emo, is emotional. Not suicidal. Though everyone says that emos are suicidal, the people that dress like "emos" Are really just suicidal, goth wanna bes.

A boy with slanted cut hair, and covers his scarred wrists is not emo, just suicidal.

"Hey, you emo?" Girl asks.

Emo

Emo is defined in multiple ways. It isn't just some stupid music of genre, nor is it people who self harm. Emo is a character trait. It's a genre of music. However, some "normal people" listen to it and don't even know it. Emos aren't all mean, and the ones who are have a reason to be. Some are really nice, but like I said it's a character trait. It depends on the person.

Alina is a really nice emo, but she can be mean if you disrespect her.

"Being emo" can be assumed as wearing a black hoodie and ignoring all social interaction. And that might be true for some people. Being emo is not a bad thing, because you don't have to deal with bitches and fake friends
