From this benefit comes the arguably less attractive symptom of bad behavior, personal baiting, racism, hatism, extremism.
People are less extreme and confrontational face to face, perhaps even more human - but this is an opinion rather than a judgement. There is perpetual discussion about the role and benefit of anonymity on the internet (or the anonysphere).
