S&M is a live album by Metallica with the support of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Michael Kamen.
The performances took place in Berkeley Community Theatre, April 21st and 22nd 1999. The CD and DVD came out layer the same year; November 23rd.
In 2019, 20 years later, the band decided to collaborate with the same symphony orchestra, once more, to make S&M2. On September 6th and 8th 2019 two performances took place in San Francisco Chase Center and, this time, they were conducted by Edwin Outwater and Michael Tilson Thomas. The CD and DVD came out almost a year later; August 28th 2020.
