a term that means one is new to something (primarily gaming). new people to internet lingo believe this to be the derogatory of newbie, Newb, which is wrong.

noob: hi, im a noob to this game, can a senior player please give me some tips to playing
senior player(internet lingo ignorant): no asshole, go QQ in that corner over there
senior player(internet lingo savvy): sure, although you might want to write this down. Also you should use (websites relevant to game) if you need any help.

Noob 

Anyone that is either new to a video game and sucks at it, or anyone that has been playing the game and still sucks at it. Can also be used in an act of anger if someone kills you. You are then permitted to scream out, "NOOB!" or "YOU ARE SUCH A NUB!" Many people dislike noobs because they ruin the game for people that are actually good.

Wow man you suck. You are such a noob.

NOOB 

Noob (Noun) - A human is considered a noob (to a certain degree) depending on if they contain the traits of: smart, athletic, and musical(as in playing an instrument). If a person is all three, then they are not a noob. If a person is only two, then they are semi-noob. If a person is only one of these, then they are just a plain out noob. If a person is none of these then they are so nooby they might just evaporate into feather clouds. However, each trait to a certain degree can mean a person is not a noob, if they excel at that trait enough. For example, a person that may be smart, but very very greatly athletic, is not considered a noob.

James: Hahaha your just a big NOOB Tommy boy!

Andrew: What do you mean, James?

James: You don't do anything, you just watch TV and play XBOX all day!
