a prep is useualy the kid of a prep in a long lie of them. they are conforming basterds. they all stick to the same things and will oustrasize people that dont fit into their wortheless cliq. they always ware light colors and polo or american egal or abercromby and fich crap that look realy unoriganal. they are the tipe of person that will go out of their way to make a goth kids life liveing hell are extreamly dum and use an exsesive amout of words like bra(not the thing that suports brests) and always end an agument they lost with "teh you weird!"

people who like wear abercrombie&fitch,hollister,ae,and aero..... people talk alot of shit on here about us i meen omg were not shalow and stupid yeah ill admit most preps are shallow bitchezz but there are some preps who are nice so practically preps are lyke normal people who watch mtv go to partys are way cool!!! love to read fashion magazines such as vogue,seventeen,and cosmo. preps start like alot of drama but itz cuz most people are like major haterz. No we dont like hate emo's, act all the same,make fun of people. that just like a stariotype that people who have low self esteem and who probably talk shit about preps because there one of the people that preps DO make fun of give us! so like siriously thats it, itz practically just like a clique that were "rich" clothes. thats it so dont talk shit okay get it got it GOOD =

well, im not sure about other states, but this is basically what a prep is considered in PA...

Someone who lives on the mainline- t/e(thts me!:), radnor, brwyn mawr, & sometimes west chester. we normally go to private schools (notre dame, agnes irwin, rosemont, springside, episcipoal, malvern, devon, the Prep, baldwin, cdssh, etc.) also, tho, some public skools like stoga:, & radnor are considered to almost be like private skools except they are ginormis. we normally play a variety of sports, hang out with people tht evry1 knows (like, if u were 2 say their name, even if they dont go to ur skool, evry1 would know), have like insane parties, & hook up a lot (but were not sluts). as far as religion were Catholic...end of story. ethnicity...normally irish (yup, the McMansions). normally we live in fairly big houses with about 2-3 acres...however not all are huge. we do take the bus:, we arent dropped off by shofers, and generally are parents dont drive us cuz were like afraid to take the bus or something(my parents wouldnt take me period). in addition to all the sports we play, we normally swim for our country clubs. generally, we all do field hockey, lax, bball, track, & swimming.for what we wear, on days were just like hanging out, sweatpants (from a sport that we did), the big baggy kind, & a shirt (like for ur class or something). if were getting dressed up, then normally hollister, a&f, ae, etc. we normally all shop at the king of prussia mall, but exton & springfield are popular2. were actualy pretty down-to-earth, despite popular belif, & were not all geniuses (defs not me!)!

preps dont always wear collared shirts.

One who often is associated with wearing clother and apparel from Abercrombie & Fitch and other hot label clothing stores, however could also describe a high popularity status and/or means showing a dislike for other clicks or groups.
Preps usually look down to anyone but themselves and other preps. Preps may also display a extremely ego-centrical attitude. Being one, they could just look down to other groups of people, even.

A typical prep may appear to be (but not always) ego-centric, dress in Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, and American Eagle clothing.

Prep 

A prep is usually a popular person in school. The stores they mainly shop at is Hollister and Abercrombie&Fitch. Yes, these types of people don't give two shits to spend $50 on a shirt that only advertises the store around the chest area. They may shop at American Eagles sometimes, but other times, it just may not be good enough for them. There life revolves around drama and being the center of attention. They are co-dependant, as well. They are drama queens, and cry over the stuppidest shit. They need to get a grip on life instead of focusing on 'whats in' and drama.

prep1 - "Oh my god, did you see that britanny was making out with brad?
prep2 - "oh my god yes i know. she's such a whore.
prep1 - "oh my god i know. and brads a jerk-off."
