Refers to at least 3rd generation US immigrants, with family roots in Mexico, who are living the middle class American
Dream. The phrase has been spotted on bumper stickers in the
Texas border region and appears to be an appropriation of the derogatory word ‘beaner’ coupled with the perceived
success of the American ‘bougie’ or bourgeois middle class. The bumper stickers also carry the full line “Bougie Beaner - American Proud”
Pedro: “Did you see how low Eduardo dropped his brand new Silverado? Sparks were brighter than the wheel rim lights!”
Fernando: “Ain’t nothing’ too low, for a
Bougie-beaner, my
brother is livin’ the
dream.”
