malabsorption syndrome

A semi-rare medical issue in which the patient cannot absorb sufficient amounts of nutrients, including proteins, fats, and vitamins. It can be caused by conditions such as celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, lactose intolerance, and intestinal damage.
Malabsorption can sometimes cause major stomach migraines and leave the patient hungry for hours.
Most people with Malabsorption Syndrome can survive by taking nutrient supplements and so forth.

But in some highly rare cases, Malabsorption Syndrome can be fatal, the patient may only have a few years before their brain and vital organs shut down due to lack of nutrients. As long as modern medicine keeps improving and patients keep on top of their diet, they can hopefully come out of this alive.
