Nigga

A word normally used by black (doesn't have to be African) people when greeting each other. Basically considered racist if a white person said the word even though its just a greeting from him too.

My dad is African American, however he can be hurt by saying "whats up my nigga" due to him being white. On the other hand, black people that aren't from Africa can say that phrase as much as they want.

A word used to describe a person who is close to you, like a friend (or enemy). The context is what gives it meaning. The race is irrelevant as long as you know the people you are saying it to and they cool with it then you good. Unless they ain't then be ready for the consequences of using a politically charged and racial slur.
