Western Washing

When a Movie / TV studio changes certain aspects in history / stories to appeal the Western market. This usually leads to European and Asian works being disrespected and falsified to push a narrative the original story was never trying to push.

It has also been criticized by Western audience the shows are appealing to for being lazy and disrespectful to the original work.

Some examples include: Lord of The Rings, The Witcher, Cowboy Beebop, Queen Cleopatra, The Little Mermaid and Velma

Person A: "Hey dude you gonna see that Cowboy Beebop remake?"

Person B: "Hell no, did you not hear their Western Washing so they can appeal to West? I'm just so tired of it"
