Catfish is used to describe when a man or woman uses old or retouched pictures on social media sites to alter their current present day appearance in order to attract or gain attention. Usually utilized when one is seeking a relationship while being deceptive.

That girl catfish her way around online to seek companionship by using photos of herself that were obviously altered because in person she didn't appear anything like the pictures she has uploaded on social media.

When a man or woman misrepresents their actual, current, present day appearance by either utilizing old pictures or retouched pictures of themselves. It's a desperate attempt to attract those possibly interested in being in a relationship. They appear attractive online through their social media platforms but look totally different in person.

That girl Lori was catfish because she looked hot AF on Facebook and Instagram but in person it was rather obvious that she altered her online pictures to attract others towards her.
