Tamagotchied

Tamagotchied (verb, slang):
To find yourself in a relationship that exists almost entirely in the virtual world—through video calls, texts, and online interactions—where one partner treats the other like a digital companion. The connection may feel constant and intimate online, but any attempt to bring the relationship into the physical, real-world space is rejected. The partner essentially keeps you as their “virtual boyfriend/girlfriend,” similar to how one cares for a Tamagotchi: always present on-screen, but never truly real.

“Yeah, we talked every day and it felt like we were dating, but when I tried to meet up, she shut it down. I realized I’d just been Tamagotchied.”
