East Rutherford

East Rutherford is a town divided in 2. North east of Route 17 is the home of the New Jersey Sports Authority which houses the stadium, IZOD Center and dreaded Xanadu Retail Project. On the other side of Route 17 is the residential section composed of working class people. Located in Southern Bergen County, NJ, most of the houses in this town were built in the 1920s, and are situated on small lots as was the trend at the time. East Rutherford is nNot to be confused with neighboring Rutherford, East Rutherford is almost like the bastard child of Rutherford. Rutherford most likely wishes that East Rutherford was still named Boiling Springs Township. All in all, East Rutherford and the surrounding towns have a rich Italian heritage and as a result have some of the best places to eat. It was also fabled that Hoffa was buried under the stadium. Unfortunately, due to many years of pollution anything north east of Route 17 (by the stadium) is contaminated, however, remediation has been ongoing in that area for many years.

Hey Vinny! Lets get in the car and go to East Rutherford to watch the game.

rutgers

Rutgers University is a state university in New Brunswick, New Jersey and is also the largest university in the state, having approximately 30,000 undergraduates. It is home to the division one football team, The Scarlet Knights. Rutgers' football program isn't particularly spectacular, however the students have been known to become roudy and agressive at games, especially towards the male cheerleaders of rival teams. Academic quality varies from department to department at Rutgers but is ranked higher than other state universities in New Jersey such as Montclair State or TCNJ. The long standing rumor that Rutgers undergraduates are plagued by STDs is totally false. Those statistics came from a survey that nobody took seriously, however the female undergraduate's sexual prowess IS equivocal of their male counterparts. (see Hock). Visiting females often are unaware and are subsequently solicited into the one night stand by the men on Guilden Street.

Rutter's Run

Late night trip by foot to local Rutter's. Often with the intent to buy such things as ice cream, energy drinks, cigs, wraps, and soda for mixed drinks.

Friend 1: Man, I'm hungry...
Friend 2: I could go for an energy drink. I feel like I'm about to crash.
Friend 3: We should make a Rutter's run. I'm almost outta ciggys anyway.
Drunk Friend: Whoo! Ruttersh run. I'm outta my drink juice.
All: RUTTERS RUN!

Rutgersfest

A day where rutgers provides free entertainment to its students. They have groups such as pit bull 3OH!3 and brand new play on stages. They also have small carnival rides and lots of fun stuff for students and friends.

Students take this as a day to party. Fraternities start drinking in the morning and have bbq's all day, other students just drink all day.

During this great day for students, people from new Brunswick (townies) and others from NJ cities come in to party. They cause trouble and are often gang affiliated. On Rutgersfest, the town of New Brunswick becomes unsafe due to these Hoodrats.

RutgersFest 2011 was a great party until non affiliated hoodrats came and started trouble. 4 confirmed shot, multiple stabbings, small riots, tons of fights, looting, cars set on fire (one was flipped), and countless other illegal activities. New Brunswick called in police from all nearby towns, and the two local hospitals St Peter's and RWJ ran out of ambulances because of these occurrences.
