A great PSone game which is still great to play today. Involves a special unit called the S.T.A.R.S. team being sent to the Racoon forests to investigate what happened to a Bravo team who were investigating a series of bizarre murders (done by zombies). They find a downed helicopter with all the equipment inside, but none of the members. When they search for clues, a certain individual named Joseph Frost finds A SEVERED HAND(!). He then gets chewed to bits by a pretty nasty dog. They then all run for a scary looking mansion (bad move) and hide inside it.
What follows is a 10 year old game (at time of print) still going pretty damn strong. Even though the notoriously bad dialogue is even worse today, and even though some of it isn't as scary, some parts are still very, very creepy. The music in the hall still sends shivers down my spine. And when you discover the first zombie? A classic sequence.
Graphically, Resident Evil is relatively still extremely good. Considerung this game is 10 YEARS OLD, it looks pretty fine.
If you do see an old copy of Resi going for cheap, do not hesitate to pick it up. It is a genuinely brilliant game. It may have lost a lot of the sparkle it had in 1996, it's still has the elements which made it so great in the first place. Even though this game has had several sequels, to my mind, the original PSone game is the best. The claustrophobic, trapped feel of the mansion hasn't really been done again in the whole seires since, as it moved on to bigger, more epic locations.

Get the Resident Evil mug.Resident Evil 5 is the forthcoming installment in the Resident Evil survival horror series for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and was first announced on July 20, 2005. The official release dates are to be announced. According to Capcom's fiscal year report at Capcom's Investor's Relations page1, Resident Evil 5 is expected to be released sometime in 2007 and possibly before March 31st, 2007. which ends their current fiscal year (2006). The report notes six Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) (three announced titles, one SKU per territory).

Taking over producer duties from Hiroyuki Kobayashi is Jun Takeuchi (director of Onimusha, character designer for the original Resident Evil and animator for Resident Evil 2). Several staff members who also worked on the original Resident Evil are involved in development. According to Takeuchi, the game will utilize the same gameplay model introduced in Resident Evil 4, while implementing thematics from the original Resident Evil into the game. The game will be a full-fledged sequel taking place after the events in Resident Evil 4, and is said to be a major turning point in the series' overall storyline.
No official release date has been announced for the game. The game will have online features that have yet to be disclosed.
It is noted that Resident Evil 5 and Devil May Cry 4 were not shown at E3 2006. Capcom supposedly reasoned that the company doesn't want to unveil the titles until they are available in a playable form. This could mean that it will be sometime before any new information will be released, especially since it was not at the Tokyo Game Show 2006.

Play magazine (An independent magazine based in the UK) said they are 99.9% certain it will turn out to be Chris. The only other name the mag, as well as Gamepro Magazine put forward as a possibility was Carlos Oliveira, since the game is reported to take place in a South American country.
It has been rumored that the game is shaping up to be a true sequel to Resident Evil Code: Veronica. Although with the demise of Flagship's Noboru Sugimura, the team itself will be handling the story. Keiji Inafune, who served as promotional producer for Resident Evil 2 is overseeing the project; he served as the executive producer for the PlayStation 2 version of Resident Evil 4 as well.3

The writers leave the concept of the T-virus and the G-virus behind, and instead pursue the story of a religious cult in rural Spain that have resurrected body controlling parasites called Las Plagas.
Leon S. Kennedy, the protagonist of Resident Evil 4, is the main character in this game. As Leon, you will have to navigate through a village, a castle, and an island, all while protecting the president's daughter Ashley Graham (who for some reason cannot hold a damn gun and help you out in the game) and while resisting corruption from one of the parasites that was injected into him in the early part of the story.
The game, is absolutely amazing, and is a must to anyone that owns a Nintendo Gamecube, PS2, or Wii.

Get the resident evil 4 mug.One of the better sequels in the popular Resident Evil franchise featuring Clare and Chris Redfield and an ass-load of zombies. This addition to the series successfully combined 3D worlds and characters with the trade mark fixed-camera style of the previous games. One benefit of this was the consistency of the graphics so objects such as crates didn't stick out on the screen. As with all major installments in the series, Code: Veronica featured a plethora of memorable set pieces, characters and plot details that further unravelled the mystery of S.T.A.R.S and The Umbrella Corporation.

Get the Resident Evil Code: Veronica mug.another squeal that totally strays from the basic plot....okai, the first re movie sucked arse for it was in the spencer mansion but the spencer mansion was not portrayed as an actual mansion but a lab. the first one had no tyrant and no jill, thus theory of the movie straying from the game franchinse itself.....this sequel ofcoarse has to outdo the first movie bringing in a B.O.W for once...and a B.O.W with a more limited vocabulary than paris hilton and lil jon.....and finally has one of the main characters from the actual franchinse.....it does have characters with the similar last names as the ashfords in code veronica but is nothing like them....carlos olivera looks too rugged to b the carlos from nemesis and im guessing alice is the new alexia ashford.....they are coming out with a next re movie called extinction with clair redfield...but they do no good for this character...she does not have her trademark vest and her trademark look and seems much older than she should.......that is my opinion of this....if u think this movie was better than the game.....GET BENT MORON
